How to Install or Upgrade RAM Memory in a HP Pro Book 4530s

Step 1: Shutdown the HP ProBook laptop and ensure the Power cable is disconnected.

Step 2: Close the lid of the HP ProBook Laptop and turn it over on its back to reveal the underside and battery release latches as show below:

Step 3: Remove the battery by sliding the release latches inwards as shown below:

Step 4: Once you have removed the battery, slide the release latches inward until they completely slide into the grooves (force is required), the back cover of the HP Pro Book laptop will then pop forward as shown below:

Step 5: Remove the back cover to reveal the 2 RAM Slots pictured below. Note that there will already be 2GB RAM installed in one slot:

Step 6: To remove the currently installed RAM Memory Module you simply need to place a finger on each side of the silver latch located on either side of the RAM Memory Module as pictured below. This will cause the RAM module to pop up at 45 degree angle - then you simply slide the RAM Memory Module out.

Step 7: To install RAM Memory it is the reverse of the above steps - first slide the memory in at an angle till it is completely in the slot, then using a finger push the RAM Memory Module down so it engages the small silver latches on either side with the sound of a click.
